At Wildwire Wānaka, guests climb a metal via ferrata beside Twin Falls—high above rock, rushing water and a swirling pool. It is an unforgettable place to reach for a phone, but an unforgiving place to drop one.

A real phone save, high above the waterfall

Wildwire’s custom OG60 bungee cord phone lanyards have already saved multiple phones. In the moment pictured above, a guest’s phone slipped from their pocket while climbing and the tether caught it—preventing a 100-metre fall toward the water below.
